Winter in Zakynthos is a beautiful experience and chance to witness the traditional way of life. The weather is mild in the winter months and ideal for exploring the island. In the winter Zakynthos Town is the main focal point where locals meet to enjoy a coffee and go about their daily business. There are very few tourists to the island due to the fact that there are no direct international flights to Zakynthos Airport although there are internal flights twice a day from Athens meaning you can take advantage of cheap flights with companies like www.easyjet.com to the capital and then transfer to Zante via aeroplane or coach and ferry boat.
