The island of Zakynthos (also known as Zante) has a climate typical of most Mediterranean countries, mainly very hot and sunny summers and mild rainy winters.
Known to be one of the sunniest places in Greece, rainy days in summer are very rare on the island of Zakynthos and temperatures often reach 38-40 centigrade around August. During winters rainfall is quite high and this is why Zakynthos has such lush green countryside and fertile land.
